Christ Congregational United Church of Christ was established in 1857 as the first church in Clintonville, meeting in a log cabin.

In 1895, our historic building was erected. This church housed the first public library in Clintonville and the city's first daycare center.

Our members have a long history of supporting community involvement in education, music and mission activity, including CROP Walks, the local food pantry, Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, and other ecumenical ministries.

Every member has a voice and vote in important church decisions, with the Church Cabinet supervising the administration of the church's programs. Christ Church members have worked to create a family of faith that is friendly and open, responsive to community needs and changes, and faithful to the task of interpreting and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our History

Our Mission

We believe that the door to salvation is always open and so are the doors to our church. Our mission is to be fully devoted to Jesus by opening our arms to those in search of the truth. We show God’s love and concern for our fellow man at every opportunity. Through works of charity and opening our doors to listen and love, we feel that we are walking in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.
